Do for Allah ta'ala's pleasure, Allah will give you from his treasure.-(Maulana Yunus Patel DB)

There was a person that I met in one of the countries that i went on a lecture tour. And this person came and made a long list of complaints about his parents that - " I do everything for my parents, I am the one that brings the food, the groceries, I pay for the rent, light, water, I provide for them shelter and my wife also goes out of her way to take care of them, she does everything for them, but yet they will not even show any kind of appreciation but that one brother of mine, when he comes, he will just say assalamualaikum, how are you all, and leave one packet of biscuit and go away and that sister in law, so they will talk and talk and talk about them, he is a blue eyed boy. I get very dissappointed."

So I(Maulana) said indeed there could be dissappoint and what they are doing is not right, it definitely hurts when the parents behave in this manner, what they are doing is distancing those children or creating hatred in the hearts of those children by their actions, parents must not think because Allah ta'ala has given them some kind of authority and have told the children to be obedient to them so now they could do any kind of injustice to their children, this is another subject. But in any case I told him what do you want, because if you are going to do it just so that it may be appreciated, do you want your parents that everytime you do something for them then they must say - "ladies and gentlemen we are now going to pass a vote of thanks - my son did this for me and son did that for me", do you want vote of thanks all the time. So do it for Allah ta'ala's pleasure, he will give you barkat in your rizq and sustenance and so many other rewards that you cannot imagine are promised on khidmat and service that a person does to his parents. So i said engrave it in your heart - Do for Allah's pleasure, Allah will give u from his treasure. Now if Allah ta'ala begins to give from his treasures then what is that which those parents would have given in comparison with that which Allah ta'ala is going to give from his treasures and how many treasure lie with Allah ta'ala - the treasure of health, treasures of wealth, the treasures of everything is with Allah ta'ala, do it for Allah ta'ala's pleasure because you are doing it, you are doing it, its not that you are not doing it, you are doing their khidmat, they are living with you, you are providing everything, they cant go anywhere else, they are old, so now do it for Allah ta'ala's pleasure, why loose out on the reward and sawaab and then if you are doing it for Allah ta'ala's pleasure he will give you barkat and sustenance, infact those people who cannot manage on their own, those people who are old, those people whose backs are bent, those people who are starving and hungry, Allah ta'ala provides to other people extra sustenance so that they may take care of these people who are handicapped, or who are disabled, who are unable to take activities of life on their own, so Do for Allah ta'ala's pleasure, Allah will give you from his treasure.
